About these terms
This website, nwes.uk, is run by the North West Endocrine Society (“the Society”, “we”). By using it you agree to these terms. If you do not agree, please do not use the site. Membership itself is also governed by the Society’s rules as they stand at the time.
Using this website
You may use this website for your own professional and personal purposes. You must not:
- use it in a way that breaks the law or infringes anyone else’s rights;
- try to gain access to accounts, data or parts of the service that are not yours;
- interfere with its security or operation, for example by overloading it or introducing malicious code;
- collect other people’s details from it, or copy it in bulk by automated means.
We may suspend access for anyone who breaks these terms.
Your account
- Give accurate details when you create an account or apply, and keep them up to date in My details.
- Keep your password to yourself. You are responsible for what is done with your account.
- Tell us straight away if you think someone else has used your account. You can sign out of every device by changing your password.
- You can delete your account at any time from My details.
Membership
- Applications are reviewed by the Society office, which may ask for more information or decline an application that does not meet the criteria for the category applied for.
- Fees are those shown on the membership page when your application is approved or your membership renewed. A concession is granted at the Society’s discretion.
- The membership year runs to 31 December. Renewals open in October. A membership with an unpaid fee may lapse, and the Society may suspend or end a membership in line with its rules.
Event bookings
- Places are limited. When an event is full you may join its waiting list, and we offer places in order.
- Please cancel from My events if you can no longer attend, so the place can go to someone else. Any fee for the event is shown on the event page.
- We may need to change or cancel an event. If we do, we will tell everyone booked as soon as we can.
Our content
The text, images, logos and design of this website belong to the Society or to those who license them to us. You may view, print and share pages for non-commercial purposes, as long as you credit the Society and do not change them. Any other use needs our written permission.
Clinical information
Clinical guidance, pathways and other resources on this website are for healthcare professionals. They support, and do not replace, professional judgement, local protocols and national guidance. They are not medical advice for patients: anyone with a concern about their health should speak to their own doctor or care team.
We take care to keep resources accurate and current, but clinical knowledge changes. Check the date on each resource and confirm against the current national guidance before relying on it.

Availability and liability
We aim to keep this website available and correct, but we cannot promise it will always be uninterrupted or free of errors, and we may change or withdraw parts of it. As far as the law allows, we are not liable for any loss arising from your use of the website or from relying on its content. Nothing in these terms limits liability that cannot be limited by law, such as for death or personal injury caused by negligence, or for fraud.
Your personal data
How we use personal data is explained in our privacy notice, and the cookies we use in our cookie notice.
Changes to these terms
We may update these terms from time to time. The date at the top of this page shows when they last changed, and we will tell members about significant changes.
Governing law
These terms are governed by the law of England and Wales, and its courts have jurisdiction.
